OK the Iris have bloomed and the foliage is still green, but turning brown. Do I pull the brown off and just leave the bulbs in the soil and wait till they bloom again?

As with all bulbs leave the leaves on the plant until they die completely. The bulbs gather energy for next years blooms thru the leaves after the plant has bloomed.
Unless the Iris is a re-blooming type, it won't bloom again until next spring. I have a few rebloomers and have yet to see them bloom twice in the same year tho

Toni I wonder if yours don't rebloom because of your Texas climate? Maybe it doesn't cool off enough for them or something

Gaylyn I'd cut back the flower stalk so they don't try to set seed :-D

I dug these up from a vacant lot after they bloomed. So don't know what kind they are. Will have to wait and see. ;)

Deanna, I have already cut the stalk back. Don't know why I did, but maybe I did something right! :D :D

Our winters are cold enough to have them blooming every spring but the re-blooming Iris are a different species.
They are supposed to bloom twice in one season....i.e. spring and then again in late summer/early fall of the same year. But it does probably have something to do with the extreme heat down here.

My re-bloomers only do their thing half the time  Still, I'll take anything I can get! ;)
