Hello all,

Here are 2 pictures of a little moth photographied on the wall of my house at Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont USA) last September 2008. It looks like he has a golden sheet over its body Wink

I think it is a Noctuidae from the genus Papaipema but I'm not sure...

Any idea about its identification?

Thank you very much for your help Smile

It looks like Papaipema Appassionata to me Michel. Some of these moths can be found in parts of England as well as in Canada and the USA.

Hello Eileen,

Finally, I identified it correctly. It is Papaipema cataphracta (the Burdock Borer).

Thank you very much for your help Smile

Cheers,

Michel
