Gurney's is having a sale on grape vines and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about growing them. I have a small area that I would love to cover in some sort of fast growing vine (bindweed is not an option Mad ) but the soil is not terrific. Do they take a lot of water and care or can I just plant them, set the water for a good soak every 12 hours and forget them? Do they need shade to get started? How fast will they take over the fence?

OR can anyone recommend something that will grow faster Idea ? I rather like the idea of the grapevines as my boyfriend can use them in his artwork when they've dried.

Any information would be appreciated - I'll need to order this week if I'm going to put them in.

Thanks.
