Everything is so much happier after a good rain!
The first Lavatera bloom
A Nicotiana volunteer
A Nigella volunteer
The first Dalhia bloom "Crazy Love"
This Astilbe has never looked happier
Finally a couple of Cosmos "Double Click" blooms
The first Nicandra bloom
A pumpkin vine that has popped up in the compost pile...it needs daily training to stay in the yard or face being trampled by the horses next door!
Two varieties of Veronica, one short, one tall
Fuchsia bloom
Drumstick Allium
This one has been a 2 year wait...Black Hollyhocks
Very black when it first opens and then fading a bit

Ohohoh! I wish my garden would look like that after the rain. You've got such vibrant colours, and how do you keep your plants so well-behaved? Mine sort of flop all over the place. That pumpkin vine of yours looks so good, a lot better than the ones we've babied and pampered to get growing.

The compost pumpkin vine is doing better than the ones in the garden Droopy! I used manure in the garden, but clearly they do better in compost. It is certainly not well behaved

We've finally got rain here too Netty. I know our grass is looking better. Looks like your flowers liked the rain you got. your Astilbe are pretty. I'm going to check into that and see if its zoned for here. Now is Veronica one that spreads? I have that new this year and really hoping it will spread out next year. I still haven't had much luck with Holly Hocks. I am hoping I'll hit on one sooner or later that'll do good for me. Everything is looking good thanks for showing us.

Oh Netty, they are all wonderful.
Why can I grow Malva and Hibiscus, but not Hollyhocks, woe is me. That black is beautiful.

Later...........
Oops forgot to say (too busy looking at the black hollyhock )that you have a lovely variety of flowers in your garden Netty. Your garden is a real credit to you.

Wow, your blooms look gorgeous. Wonder what mine would do if we got rain...we may never know
I have several of those plants on my wish list for next year, plan on doing a fall planting order next month.

We finally got some rain here after none in almost 6 weeks. It does make quite a difference, not the same as watering with a hose. Your pics are beautiful!

The black Hollyhocks were planted from seed in the fall almost 2 years ago. I also planted seeds out last fall for blooms next year. They were not difficult to grow at all...I basically planted them and forgot about them.

I'm going to have a look at my seed catalogues and see if I can buy some for myself. Oh I'm getting excited already.

Those are all absolutely gorgeous. Mine wouldn't look like that (if I had any! ), even if we did have rain. Don't understand how some just have the magic touch, and other (me) can't even grow weeds!!

Your garden looks lovely Netty. I love wandering around after the rain. Everything looks so fresh. Love the black hollyhocks, we only have the boring paler shades.

Beautiful variety of flowers, Netty. I could just look at those for hours on end. The Fuchia and Nigella are looking particularly attractive.
I am looking foreward to having some of those Lavateras in a while, but they are still growing. Fingers crossed for those.
This was such a good posting, Netty---a reflection of your capabilities as a gardner.
