One of life’s great joys is children, and another is grand children. We are, for just over a week, blessed with having both here. There’s nothing quite like hearing the early morning call of the Loon out on the lake, but hearing a 2 year old grand son calling “Bappa (he had trouble with Grampa so Bappa works just fine for me) are you up?”, from just outside the bedroom door is even better. Our daughter Jo Ann, and her husband Erich, while vacationing here, have a couple times wanted to do some things without the kids, so Mimi and I have been the perfect built in baby sitters. While the little guys needs and desires take us down some unexpected paths, it’s wonderful to be with them. I just wish that I had a small amount of their energy, to keep up. They are 5 and 2, and the 5 year old, Alex, has unlimited energy, and talks and runs, wants to go fishing, and biking, and pick up every thing that he sees , and go every place he isn’t, and all at the same time. His little brother, Conner, wants to do every thing that he does. They both want Nana and Bappa to do it all with them. We try, but can only keep up is spurts, and need to sit and watch a good deal of the time. Then the next day the kids are ready to start every thing all over again, and Nana and Bappa are hurting from yesterday, and can’t even get out of bed without loud groans and wincing in the pain of soar muscles from yesterdays activities. It’s great I wouldn’t trade the time with them for anything. Following are some examples of the fun.

Sometimes the fun gets to you, and lunch takes a little longer.

Wonderful pictures. You need to enlarge the Connor nekked shot for showing his first girlfriend Very Happy

You know that popular saying....If I had known grandkids were going to be this much fun I would have had them first.

Tom you have a beautiful family. I know you are really enjoying their visit. I think Bappa is great. My son couldn't say 'Grannie' so it ended up 'Gaga'. It is always so sweet and special when they come up with their own word. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

You'd best get yourself some Blue Lotion to put on your aches and pains, then you can keep up for a little bit longer. Very Happy Your family is adorable. Enjoy yourselves, have fun.

Tom it's so lovely to see you and Mimi together enjoying your kids and grandkids. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the two little ones splashing about in the lake and playing around the house. I don't have grandchildren (and doubt I ever will) so it's really great to see yours romping in the sunshine. Very Happy

Fantastic photos. Little people certainly keep us on our toes. There are many things I love to do with our urchins, but the great thing is, Mark and I get to be kids again ourselves, and ride on the swings, build sandcastles and go swimming with them. I don't think you would catch me running up the board walk in the altogether, the wildlife would object. Smile

Aren't they just little balls of energy? I love the naked buns pic. My little daughter who is almost 2 also calls her grandpa "Bapa". She has him completely wrapped around her little finger when she says, "I wuv oo, Bapa."
