When you turn in our driveway, about half way to my house is an oak tree to the left. It is about 20 ft. from the drive. I was standing on the other side of the tree one evening thinking, and that's what usually gets me in trouble. Well, I saw a fence coming from the other side of the tree into the yard, but not just any fence, a large corner fence. But not a picket fence, I want something different. Then I remembered this:

I want a post at the corner to attach the first headboards too, and I want a post at each end. I would love some old porch columns, but will probably have to settle for 4.4's with a special finial on top of each, maybe small crystal totems, we'll see. I need seven more headboards, and I need a load of topsoil, so it will probably be spring before it gets finished. I want a paved sitting area on the other side, but that might take a little longer, so until then I will just plop my yard chair on the grass.
It is going to be planted with daylilies, of course and low growing annuals and perennials. One corner is shady so I will probably try some Achimenes there.
I was inspired by a photo of a place to sit and watch butterflies and birds while browsing the web
Mine is just going to be a totally different style, and it won't have a wooden bench like the picture in the link, I haven't figured that out yet, but I will know it when I see it.

Sounds like you really had a brain storm!  I can almost picture it myself (even though, like Toni said the link didn't work). Do you get everything together, then start your project or just start at the beginning and gradually add to? I can't wait till the spring, or whenever. I know it will be beautiful!

Try it again, and let me know if it is working, I redid it.
Gaylyn, I will try to get everything together for this one, but I may not be able to find that many headboard. There is a junk place on the way to work, but I haven't stopped to check his prices yet, probably high.

Oh that sounds like a project worth taking time over. I hope you can find the rest of the headboards you need soon so that you can get started. Do let us see progress piccies won't you as I'd love to see each stage of your new seating area.
BTW the link isn't working for me either I'm afraid.

Unless you just have your heart set on posts to attach the headboards to, a cheaper way would be to use rebar pounded into the ground then set the legs of the headboards over them and use zipties to hold them together if you want.

Sharon, I just went to the website...that is the cutest idea I have seen in a long time. I wonder how long she searched for the headboards. Let us know how your search goes.

I managed to view the photo by copying and pasting the address...that is the only way I could get it to work.
I think the bed frames look great, and will look even better planted with some Daylily's
