I tried growing carrots for the first time this year. I checked them the other day, and they did not grow. hmm. what did I do wrong?

My mom always said carrots do better in sand are loose earth.We have sandy loam here.

Carrot seeds are also very small and can easily get drowned in heavy rains and wash away.
