Someone said I haven't been posting much lately. I guess that's true. My garden hasn't done so well with all the heat and no rain. I don't have many flowers to take pictures of either. I've been rather busy trying to get aprons and totes and things made to sell at the farmer's market.
I have about a dozen of each and I've sold some totes. I made two large man-size totes special order and that took some time.
Here's what my sewing corner looks like now. We sort of rearranged the whole corner. We are looking for some cheap shelves now. We'll find them at a yard sale one of these days.

My stacks of material are rather messy. I keep saying I'm going to organize them but can't decide how to do it. By color, by weight, by size, by kind. So, I just dig through it to come up with matching or contrasting material for the tote bags. Each bag is lined.

Today, before the storm came I was working on this tote.

It's about 18"x18" by 8". The material is vinyl Texas A and M. I know this person who went there to school so I think that is where this tote will go. It's lined with muslin material. I essentially make two bags and sew them together. Some have carry handles and some have shoulder handles.

So, I will try to get on more often, really!

Your sewing room looks a lot like my craft room Dooley. Thing is if I tidy it all up then I can't find anything so I just leave it as it is. That's my excuse anyway so I'm sticking to it. Razz

Love the tote bag you've shown us. I know a lot of people don't like working with vinyl. Was it difficult to sew?
I hope you're charging decent prices as handmade totes can be very expensive in the shops.

Hey Dooley! I like those totes you're making.

I've had the same experience that Eileen had -- when I organized my art space, I was so much less creative!

Hang in there with the heat.

I love your photos, and would have loved to sit there and look at you working, humming softly to myself. I also hope you charge decent prices. Very Happy

Great looking Tote Dooley!
I'm going to try to de-clutter my work areas too. But that will be a winter job when I'm done work and home everyday again.

Creativity and organization don't go together for me either. Your totes are so fantastic. Hope the heat soon lets up for you.

Actually reminds me of my workspace especially when I'm in the middle of a project. What I have learned, though is to just get a dresser of some sort, or some kind of storage unit. This way I have much more space to just put things away.
