This is one type of beetle that is more than welcome in my garden. I don't care what colour they are or how many spots they have as they are welcome to all my aphids whatever they look like. One exception of course would be the Harlequin Ladybird.

I love your 4th photo, it's so clear and personal. Ladybirds are welcome in my garden. I'd even let the larvae munch on my plants.

Actually, most Ladybird adults and larvae are predators. They feed on very small insects such as aphids, scale insects and mite.

I use Olympus cameras, 750 UZ I think was the one I used for most of these, but now i also have an 18 and a 20 zoom camera and tend to use them more, they all have super macro settings.

Wow they look really different up close don't they.
We don't get many lady birds here, only when you go by the beach.
