I have no idea what kind of tree this is. It flowers in about May(ish?) and is very pretty...and I'm tired of saying "I have no idea" when people ask me what kind of tree it is. It flowers all white if that helps.

Right now it's about 25' tall and I'd guess it to be about 10-11 years old? I noticed that it what appears to be berries on it now? This is my first step towards getting my green thumb...so any and all help is much appreciated! (if more detailed photos would help, just say it!)

Hi, there. You have got yourself a nice bradford pear tree. They are very popular landscaping trees around here, although they are very susceptible to wind damage. We have three at our house .. one is a standard bradford pear (which has a shape just like yours) and one red spire which has a slightly narrower spread and is supposed to be less susceptible to wind damage.

I love it when the tree is in bloom, but man .. the flowers are pretty stinky Shocked
Here they bloom in April and it's your assurance that spring has indeed begun and plenty of other things will soon be blooming, too!

Happy Gardening.

Indeed, Bradford pears are a popular landscape tree, but the little pears can be a mess on sidewalks, drives and decks.

Very beautiful in bloom and fall colors.

Susceptible to rust on leaves and little pears.

Waxwings and starlings will feed on the fruits about mid winter here in Michigan.
