I think when I make mine I'm going to paint my pots just to be different .Pinkiered this would be a great idea for you.

The original ones that I saw on EBay were painted. I have no talent for painting and I just put this one together to see how it looks. I will be on the lookout for some larger pots to make me several more.

That is what I used, rebar. Put the drainage hole of the pot over the rebar, fill the pots as you go, and tilt them from side to side. You can use larger pots, those were just what I had on hand. Pound about a foot of the rebar into the ground.

Anything can be used to put in the ground and place the pots on as long as it doesn't completely block the drainage hole and it is sturdy enough to hold the pots without bending. I saw one with old galvinized buckets and a watering can on top, it was neat.

The rebar holds the pots in place, the top rim of the pot rest against the rebar.
