Sis-in-law was visiting over the weekend. I was talking about how the red wasp were really bothering the hummingbirds. She said "Go to the medicine cabinet and get some Vicks-Vap-O-Rub". I did. She smeared some on the bottom of the feeder. And sure enough.... the wasp would go there and immediately high-tail it out of there! And the hummers didn't mind the smell at all!

Great tip! Vicks takes care of so many different things than it was originally intended. Our little hummers need all the help they can get!

Great tip!!! I feel sorry for the hummers when the red wasps are around I usually get the fly swatter and take the matter in my own hands. I am going to try this, Thanks

ooooo, wonder if it works on our yellow wasps as they are being a darn nuisance at the moment and how I have gotten away with not being stung so far this season is nobodies business!
