Hi all,
It is always hard to write an intro but well, here we go...
My name is Maria, i live in middle of Sweden with my boyfriend and our 4 children.
I am home since a year back, recovering from severe depression caused by years of work like 24/7 (i worked as IT-technician) and didn't sleep much during all these years soo...i broke down and couldn't do anything without crying, i still can't answer the phne etc but well...finally, i am slowly recovering with help from my family and my hobby/therapy, growing (mostly) African Violets and some other "easy to get" plants (some hoyas for example).

Anyway, i hope to read a lot here, get new ideas etc, maybe not participate that much in discussions (not at beginning anyway) and hopefully this will also help me on my way back to life Smile

Enough about me now, i wont bore you all with my life story Smile

Have a nice day/evening/whatever...lol

/Maria, Sweden

Welcome, neighbour, from the coast of mid-Norway. Stew Face 2 I can safely say I know what you're going through, and I'm certain your plants and the Stew will be a good thing for you. Nothing like the colourful photos on here when the winter's dark and cold. Very Happy

Do hop in and make yourself at home. I'm looking forward to stewing with you.

Hi Maria, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Gardening is great therapy whether you are actually fiddling with the plants or just sitting outside in the garden planning. Please show us some photos of your African Violets and Hoya, those are plants we don't get to see very often on the Stew.

Don't worry about not talking much at first, it won't be long before you will be joining in and talking as much as the rest of us. Wink

Hi from Wisconsin USA where it's cold too. Nothing better than gardening for chasing away the blues...looking forward to hearing about your experiences.

Welcome to the Stew from Virginia, USA. I too have suffered from depression, and gardening(plus medication Mr. Green ) has helped me a great deal. You can bury alot of troubles digging in the dirt! I love African Violets! Would love to see some of your pics whenever you could post some. This is a great place with lots of friendly folks and I just know you'll be feeling better soon. Thank you all Smile

It is strange to say but, it feels lilttle better to know one is not totally alone with these kind of problems, even if it feels that way most of the time.

Yes, gardening (and my AV's) together with medication and a supportive family is helping alot.

It already feels like i am among friends and jeez, i love all those nice pics one can see here Smile

Well, time to look at more beautiful photos Smile

Have a nice evening everyone,
Maria
