They can't take our winters I'm afraid. Laughing Duckweed is a very interesting plant, and since you've got so much of it you could find yourself a new hobby amongst these topics:

Quote:
Researchers are using these plants to study basic plant development, plant biochemistry, photosynthesis, the toxicity of hazardous substances, and much more. Genetic engineers are cloning duckweed genes and modifying duckweeds to inexpensively produce pharmaceuticals. Environmental scientists are using duckweeds to remove unwanted substances from water. Aquaculturalists find them an inexpensive feed source for fish farming.

Well I hate to say you are wrong but this stuff comes bad in my ponds and in the wild here every year. I would be glad to share with you though. Koi love the stuff so I keep some growing in this tank just in case they eat all there is in the pond. I covered the ponds early this year so I have lots to spare.

WOW! I have given this stuff away by the pound. So glad I did not have to through it out. All I asked for was postage in return. "BINGO" it is now back under control.
