As many of you know, I started new plants from my Purple heart/wandering jew a few weeks ago. While they are growing well, they are very different from my other ones.
The original plant has very long leaves, the new plants have very short leaves and are much further spaced. The original plant is under artificial lighting, the new ones in a south facing window with lots of indirect sunlight.
What is causing the new plant to be so scraggly and look so bad?
I will get a picture as soon as I find my camera, of both the new and the original.

As you can see, the new leaves on the transplants are tiny, less than 3 inches long.
The mother plant has huge long lush leaves.
What could be the cause of this? Both have been fertilized with Miracle Grow equally. The transplants get sunlight where the mother gets artificial fluorescent lighting. The transplants have a deeper pot than the mother plant.
Is it as simple as the sunlight is not direct light?

I would be tempted to pinch back those cuttings to around just two or three groups of leaves. This should allow the new plants to bush up and be less spindly. Maybe you could also put them into a less bright area in your home as they seem to be growing so quickly because of the amount of light they're getting.

I can do that, I doubt it is gonna hurt them as they grow like nothing I have ever tried before.
