Hello my rose advisors.... Now that Fall is here, what do I need to do for my roses to put them to bed for the winter? Recall that they were eaten up with black spot all summer. Is there anything I could/should do for them to reduce the risks of black spot in the Spring? (Other than try to ensure the most air circulation possible...). Thank you!

I like to clean up underneath them as well as I can to make sure I have removed any black spotted leaves. Then I heap on a couple of buckets full of mulch or compost directly over the crown. One year when I was badly infected, I sprayed the soil surrounding the plant with Funginex before I added the compost.

Thanks you guys. I think I will spray them another time for good measure, Netty. Sound like a good idea.
