I just purchased a home and am planning on renovating my one full bath. I have been researching bathrooms online and I really like the concept of the enclosed tub and shower similar to the picture below.

However, it seems like it will be a really tight fit with little to no room to move around. My contractor has sketched a couple of versions below.

Without moving the plumbing around drastically, I am curious to see the other configurations possible. I like layout A as it has more space, but I am worried that we won't have enough room for the tub since it is a drop in tub. Layout B allows for a larger tub and shower stall which is nice as I'm not sure if I really need the extra space. I would also like some built in cabinet space which I was thinking of a placing at the end of the counter furthest from the door in Layout A.
I'm curious to see others thoughts and ideas. Thanks.

Layout B seems to be the one you are most happy with so I'd go with that one.
Maybe you could move the toilet though and place it at the opposite end of the sinks (away from behind the door) which would still give you the space for your larger bath.

That's a good idea Eileen as that door blocking the toilet would be awkward. If you can't move the toilet plumbing that far (may be cost prohibitive...) maybe your contractor can make the door open in the opposite direction.
Beautiful bathroom you've picked for inspiration, 777php.

I like Layout A. Personally I would find a spacious bathroom more relaxing and appealing.
Having a double sink...will there ever be a time when both of you will be in the bathroom at the same time, like when getting ready for work? If so then that 38" space between the sink and shower might not be enough room to be comfy.
Layout B just looks like you have really big things stuffed into a really small space.
I didn't know they made 8'long bathtubs, your water bill will be high from filling that thing a few times 
If you really have to have the larger tub, how about going with a single sink.
Put the toilet at the other end of the sink area, a single sink (possibly a pedestal sink), then a built-in cabinet. The cabinet being behind the door isn't as weird a configuration as the toilet being behind the door. The pedestal sink will give a feeling of more space too and relieve some of the closed in feeling.

I vote for a. I would switch the tub with shower.
double sinks oval.
Hope that is the 2nd bath room.
I hate to have to bath by a commode visitor.
