Just got her 2 days ago. She doesnt like the process of being picked up, but once Ive got her, she's ok with it *lol* She likes to climb up to the back of my neck and just sit there, sniffing around. Shes a young one, dont know exactly how old though. My bf is disgusted by her :/ He thinks all rats are dirty varmints. But Im not getting rid of her, no sir!

Good for you, rats make great pets, smart, comical,
and they clean themselves like cats. I had two many
years ago, LuLu and Daisy.

I don't mind them much unless they get loose. We have had a few really odd colored ones caught in traps. Smile

That's a lovely addition to your family. Very Happy I like rats as pets. They're fun animals. Congratulations on each other, and have fun together.

We've kept fancy rats like yours as pets for years Jen and they make excellent pets. I've never once been bitten by any of our rats and they are so intelligent - they come when their names are called. I think you've made a wonderful choice for a pet and companion. Very Happy

I had never really thought about a rat as a pet until a year or so ago, when I read a story by a woman who had moved into an apt by herself, and wanted a companion, and I think a friend gave her a rat. At first she didnt like it much, but eventually she read up on rat care and behavior and realized her rat needed companionship as much as she did, and they became buds Smile
