Spyware / Malware / Adware Removers

System Utilities to help with security
- CCleaner - Free system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool

AVG which I had been using for at least more than 8 years now. A basic antivirus and antispyware protection for Windows available to download for free. Limited features, no support, for private and non-commercial use only.

I also run Window Defender together with the AVG free version. Windows Defender is included with all versions of Windows Vista and is available to download for genuine copies of Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or later.

I use the AVG security that is free...I got tired of waiting for our internet provider to finish a free program that they are working on for Windows 7...so far it is great.

I do love windows 7 ...

I have been using it for a while and I still have a few things I have to learn on it yet...I have been going to the website and reading. My computer is so-------------much faster with it...I am so happy Very Happy I got a new one.

Frank here's one that is a one stop, takes care of it all software, you do not need one from each catagory as you listed above, with this one, and it is awesome! also a free download..check it out! of course you need to keep a good anti virus, this will take care of all of the rest.

Actually the free ones are okay but if you want reliability. I recommend Norton 360

Not to step on toes, but i can't stand Norton, The version you buy is a little better than the free one. No matter which one you chose just remember, its not like seat belts, The More You Have On The Safer You Are. Most Anti virus programs will fight with each other for dominance and cause you Pc to run slower. Just as important as a good Antivirus software is to keep them all up to date, Virus's come out daily! Recommended websites for SAFE Downloads are (personal oppinion- 0 Virus from them yet) Filehippo.com and Download.cnet.com

I'm not a fan of Norton either.
I use ESET security
http://www.eset.com/home
And Malware Bytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

I don't use the free versions because I've found you really DO get what you pay for.

If I may add my 2 cents:

Here is a really nice program.

It will show you which programs on your system need to be updated and will provide a download link for you.

Update Checker

And I see that no one has mentioned SpywareBlaster

Excellent program!
