There are three parts to this video and all of them are enjoyable and will give you a chuckle or two....

Toni, Toni, Toni.... thank you for the links for Ruth Stout. I had never heard of her. She made me laugh and cry and everything else. How captivating she is, a real free spirit. I hope I'm that spunky when I'm 94. What an interesting approach to gardening too. Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed the videos, I thought they were great.

I had never heard of her either until I read an article in the Dallas paper in the Gardening section, the columnist mentioned having seen the videos and that she now had bales of hay at the ready for this years growing season to try the technique out for herself. Wink

What a smart and fiesty gal! Love her philosiphy about things. Can't believe she is able to do all that she does at the ripe age of 94!

CK will be able to hear her birds singing! Wink

Last year whenever I mowed the grass I spread the clippings and it made beautiful mulch for the veggies but this year I am planning to get some hay to cover my veggies too. I'm going to think of Ruth Stout whenever I spread it!

What a nice set of videos and what a good personality that lady has. I liked her method of gardening and the logic of her methods. She explained it well, I thought. It's nice when you get a "why" when someone explains how they do something. It sort of makes the instructions 'complete', if you know what I mean...and therefore easier to accept or 'wnat' to use.
As I look back, that was what irritated my parents alot when I was coming up--I frequently wanted to know WHY when they came with orders for young Sjoerd that he did not see the use in. Embarassed

Anyway...thanks very much for this posting--who would not be charmed by this person and who would not see the possibility in some of the things that she let us see.
