 Happiness is getting things organized. A small greenhouse/cold frame unit for the patio has gotten many of my sedums out of the breezeway and outside. They were starting to grow and get leggy with the warmer weather. I admit my purchase was an impulse buy, but it looked like it might work. The plastic doesn't reach to the ground to catch the soil warmth, but our frosts and freezing nights aren't so cold now. With daytime temperatures well above freezing looks like its time to start cleaning up the garden.

Some of my wreathes, sedums and starter plants are still under plastic and tables. They smell so "green house-like" that I hesitate to remove the ugly plastic. It is still like a breath of spring each time I peek in.

I really like your greenhouse, looks very user friendly. Hmmmmmm, might have to go look for one of those myself.

Hello Jewell,
I've seen those things advertised in gardening magazines and they look so useful.
It is working well for you, I can see that, but your solution with the table and plastic was also a 'solution'--it shopws that you are a good improvisor (a very good gardening skill to have).

I'm sure you'll not have to look at the plastic for too much longer now Jewell. Your plants will all be grateful for you keeping them safe from the cold in your mini greenhouse.

I had one like that years ago. I started my seed trays in there. It was great for the first few weeks of germination. Then you need to take the plastic off or keep the zipper flap open because there is no air circulation and I had problems with damping off disease.

Damping off disease.... oh dear. Just when I think I'm ready to do something, here is another thing to watch out for. I fear I am becoming an anxious gardener. 
I'm glad I read this before I start my cold frames (if the snow ever melts)! I'll remember to give them a little air.

Thanks Gail. I was out checking on it today after work and wishing that it zippered from the top instead of the bottom for air circulation. Thanks for the reminder. Tidiness has its price. Last year I just potted plants up and left them sitting on the bricks and the ground warmth did the trick. Guess I'll have to do some thinking on how to moderate temperatures and provide air circulation with them sitting up off the ground  .
