Am I in a bad mood or what ?!
Just lost a Gaura, torn apart by a squirrel, bottom of the pieris shrubs lost their lower stems and with the gales, all 4 newly planted fuschias have sustained damage, the Acer 'Flamingo' almost snapped !
Has the wildlife and weather 'got it in' for me this year ?
Also, can't seem to feed the birds enough, the feeders getting depleted not long after filling
That is it...I'm moving into a flat !

Sure you are CJ!!! I say much the same every year and I've been here for over twenty years now. Frustrating but when you see all your seedlings sprouting and your flowers blossoming it makes up for all the hardships.

I always say that too. I'm going to put up a free plant sign at the head of the road and move into an apartment. But I know it ain't so, just our way of blowing off a little steam.

Hmm let's step back a second and look for some sort of connection here...
I'VE GOT IT.... Fat birds = Bad weather!
Solution: start feeding them diet bird seed.

You're right in a way, as I have heard that unusual weather patterns affect the behaviour of wildlife, as it confuses their 'routine'.
Not sure about the bird seed connection, but may change it anyway
