As you can see below on the pictures attached this is my kitchen.
I know I need a smaller kitchen set, this is a dinning set we got from someone free lol.
What I need help with is the color scheme, since there are things we cannot change like the cushion floor and the counter top, (they are practically new) these things have to stay the same color. I want to change the wall and trimming colors but have no idea what color. When I check the color wheel, the opposite color for blue is rust, but i don't really see rust as a color for my walls..
    Help?

Red, olive green or terracotta would look really nice and keep everything sophisticated.

I, personally, would go with red as it always looks so good against black and white.

I love the countertop color. If it was me, I would go with a very pale grey on the wall, leave the trim white and then bring in yellows, oranges, reds, as accents in your centerpiece, curtains, etc. That way you could always change your accent colors at any time and make it look new all over again. Good luck!

I would go with a light green and keep the baseboards and chair railing white. Then you could pick out a theme for your kitchen. For example, apples, country, roosters, etc. This will bring a new look into your kitchen with the decor and accents. I think this would look very cute.

Don't know about colors but a sponged marble type finish on the walls might be nice. Takes a lot of work to get it to look right. Could put red, azure, emerald and other bright colors to a slate gray/cobalt blue base. Almost like a fire agate look but a little tamer.

I know I'm late on this, and here's my 2cents. I'd go with a light terra cotta. You could try out a patch and see if you like it. I would also like to suggest that you consider a paint that has no or low VOC's.

Go Bold For Your Kitchen Colors

The replies to this inquiry about your kitchen colors have been good. And I am with the folks who mention to go bold -- ie: reds, yellows and apricots, just to name a few.
Now keep in mind different colors make people feel different. For instance the reds and yellows are know to stimulate hunger.

Paint the trim and bottom half of wall the same neutral color, preferably white. Paint the top half of the wall the terra cotta as someone else suggested. If you don't like the terra cotta idea then paint the trim and bottom half white, and paint the top half a blue-ish or grey-ish..pull a shade out of either the floor, or the countertop. Preferably the floor.

You might get samples of a light grey or a light blue grey for the walls. Paint a small area on your walls to get the full effect. This will allow you to see how the lighting works with the colors. The trim I would do in white. These are great neutral colors that allow so many decorating options that you aren't stuck with one theme. Enjoy!
