we had one cut down 2 yrs. ago, stump ground out and all and apparently it's still living somehow because there are red suckers all over, (and i mean ALL over) our back yard, even as far as 10 ft away.
We have hacked out alot of the underground roots and i've even put on some stump killer on them. It's not working and i'm ready to put a for sale sign in my yard. 
Can somehow please help!!

Cheryllynn you are going to have to kill the crabapple tree's root system and this will have to be done chemically. You can use Roundup or similar to spray the suckers when they appear or take advantage of some other part of the tree's vascular system to get the chemical to the roots (but that could be difficult now that it is at stump level, if it wasn't you could have girdled the tree and painted the chemical into the girdle).
