|
I recently filed a police report because a prankster threw my large rocks trimming out a berm all over my yard. They also threw them against my picket fence, breaking a picket. We've had a motorcycle stolen, they just drove off with my neighbor's log splitter last year, and they enjoy popping off the solar lights and flag holders on the posts at the end of the driveway, it must be fun.
I just realized most the bowling balls I've decorated over the years are gone from my yard. They must have stolen them one by one and I just didn't notice it until now! It's so aggravating!
I particularly liked these, and I can't find them. I'm going to search the yard for the penny one tomorrow, maybe they just moved stuff around. They do that sometimes. Oooohhh....if I ever catch 'em!

I'm sorry Pianolady for all the trouble you are having with vandals. I hope you find your bowling balls tomorrow! Hopefully they have just been moved!! I really like the red one!! Some people have alot of nerve!! It is so frustrating for someone else to come on your property and destroyed all your hard work!! I hope they catch who is doing all this to you!! Good luck!!

I can't understand the mentallity of people who do things like this!!! I know what I'd do to them if I caught them but it's probably illegal.
I hope you find your bowling balls Pianolady but somehow I have a feeling they're being stolen and sold.

That's really terrible PL. Kids today, I swear some of them have to conscience whatsoever. It starts with stealing small things and next thing you know 10 years down the line they have more serious issues to contend with. Look out for them on C.O.P.S.
I really hope your police report brings about something positive from this whole mess. And I really hope you get your stuff back/find it.

Oh,PL, so sorry to hear about the vandalism in your yard. Hope the police can do something about it.
That's one reason I don't have much out front and even when we get started relandscaping this fall there won't be much of anything but plants out there until we can put a good fence up.

to hear about all your proublems. I think they are being stolen to sell. If there is a flea market, craft shows ect. near by I would go this weekend and look around. Good luck and let us know please. The police should have them do hard work in your yard for what they did also. G!zMo

We had some pranks done in a city not to far from us. Two teens a 14 yr old and a 15 yr old took charcoal lighter fluid onto the high school football field which was astro turf and sprayed it around and then set it on fire. They caught them and now their parents have to cough up $50,000 each to have it replaced. You could tell by the clothes that the parents were wearing in the pictures that they can't afford that kind of money! I bet those kids won't be able to set down until they are 50 yrs. old and won't get out of the house until they are 90! I guess the turf just melted as it was artifcial grass.

I hope very much that these vandals are caught. Let's hope they dropped at least one of these lovely balls on their foot.

This is the reason why I try to secure anything I get for the garden against a wall, or fence, or make it so heavy it can't be lifted. Anything to deter such mindless acts. Set your bowling balls into a base of concrete (unseen at the bottom of the ball) and if they try to lift that they'll put their backs out. I even used a large jubilee clip wrapped round a rail in my extension patio to secure the frame of the cascade fountain. Some acts of vandalism you can't prevent, because if it is clean - they dirty it, if it is breakable - they smash it, and if it is unsecured - they take it.
What a world we live in.

So terribly frustrating and sad! I really, really hope you recover at least most of the bowling balls - what are they thinking, taking these things? RRRR!
I can see why the penny one was a favorite - it's a real beauty.

Sorry for your loss, Pianolady.
I'm thankfull I live on a dead-end road in a desolate area. The neighbor kids know I'm just crazy enough to not be messed with, so they leave me alone.

Im soooo sorry! I cant stand someone to come into my yard and knock over my flowerpots. Ohhhhh If they were to steal something I worked on......!!!
When I went home for a wedding not long ago, we happen to drive by a house where the yard was decked out. Very nice. But right in front of the yard next to the road was a sign that said.. Please do not steal my plants.... Someone was stealing thier plants right out the front yard! Well, later that night, one of the guys I was with, came over to the house with the sign. HE thought it was this big joke. I was mad! I took the sign back. Those poor ppl! I hope I never have to deal with something like your going through.

I found the penny one today! But the river rock one is long gone. I put the penny one inside the fence by the front door now.

I'm so glad you found your penny BB PianoLady. I'm also sorry about the vandalism. Do you know anyone with a big dog, chain him to the inside of the fence, then let them step in. I find dogs deter a lot of this kind of stuff.
