Here's our Eastern Screech Owl babies about a month ago.Now they have fledged but are still around. When we moved here we immediately built some simple owl boxes and they moved right in. They are common throughout most of the U.S. They love to eat mice and voles and they are just so cute!

RFOL Pinkie I held off on posting because I was thinking the exact same thing. I can see how they may look cute but that photo gives me the shivers. I mean look at their beady eyes, just peering into your soul! And the fact that you mentioned that its like one body with four heads has helped...at all! {{{shiver}}}

LOL Thats funny! If you look at the pic....they do not! look happy about their pic being taken!

Ive seen them (owls) in the wild. They will be perched up on a branch, watching me. >shiver< Its like theyknow. And it doesnt help when they call out into the night!!!! Shocked Shocked Makes me think that Death is lurking around!! Shocked And they are sooooo big!!! Shocked

I hit an owl (or should I say it hit me) while driving my truck. It flew right into the corner of the cab, just behind my head. Feathers everwhere! I had my window open and there were feathers inside the cab. Poor thing, but damn did that scare me! Yeah, they're big. And this one obviously hated Toyotas.
