EJ what a lovely little group of quails you have there. They must be delighted with their new homw - I know I would be if I were one of them. Have you given them names yet? I can just imagine you dancing around the garden when you find the first egg.

Glad you like them as much as me. My girls. Honestly, I wonder what the neighbours think as when I get to the end of the garden, I have to greet my 2 girls, the guinea pigs, then into my greenhouse and greet my other girlies, the quails. Spent some time with them this evening, chatting away, and they chatter back. As soon as they lay, you know where the photo will be.

Oh, don't those birdies look good. You are going to have great fun with those EJ.
what and how will you try and arrange a place for them to make nests in...or is that the meaning for that little house that Mark built?
Anyway...it's really good to see them there now. They look a good size.

Well sjoerd, that was the idea of the box Mark built, not that they go in it. They have adopted an area under the greenhouse staging as their home. I am thinking of putting some straw down there for them to nestle in.....I keep googling and asking advice, but you know, I think I am fussing over my girls a lot more than other people do.

Those are some adorable little birds. I don't know anything about quail. Do they fly at all? If they do be sure to put a mesh over any fans in your greenhouse. I rehabbed some orphan morning doves in my greenhouse and we just put hardware cloth over the exhaust fan.
If you think your fussy, you should meet some of my friends that are owned by parrots. You should see how pampered my birds are.
Pet birds are really aliens that were sent to this planet to enslave humans.
