I need to add soil for my succulents and I was wondering if it is a good or bad idea to add some compost to it? I have never fertlized them so I was thinking instead of doing so I owuld simply add some and let that give them some nutrients when I water them. I would imagine it would hold water also but keep them from feeling like they have wet feet because it will be on top.

Any thoughts?
