I started my Giant Sunflower seeds in peat pots to give them a chance before putting them in garden about the 1st of April.

My question is I now have 4 leaves about 8" stalks that are real spindly and even though I staked them with skewers they are bent and twisted. Will they be okay? did I mess up? Can they be saved?

You might have started them a little early but you can transplant them to little bit larger pots and let them get more sun. At that size they should be getting a lot of sun.

I know that I am over anxious for SPRINGGG although we have had a very mild winter, unlike last year. Thanks for the advise I will put plant lamps on timer and see if that toughens them up. thanks
