Question

Was led to this group by looking online about hydrangea plants.

Read in the postings the color can be changed by making soil more acidic if you want blue.

Wondering if Miracle Gro's Miracid would help in changing the color from pink to blue or if it would harm the plant.

I don't have hydrangea's but I don't think it would hurt them. Try a weak solution first and see how it goes. Or if you have more than one do one first. There was a post on hydrangeas here that explained it. Maybe I can find it. Dooley

I just planted my first hydrangea, so I don't have any experience with this. But, I found a few interesting links.

Thank you Flowie, I have that as well as the miracle-gro specific for Hydraneas & rhododendrums, which I've been using, but I will start using the acid one on your recommendation, as I'd prefer the blue flowers Smile

Flowie I love the blue - I have never planted hydrangea. Are they shade or sun?

I'd have to class myself as more of a blue hydrangea fan myself alright. Great pic Flowie, it looks very healthy.

yea i first planted it 2 years ago and it was a little nothing. (actually there are 2 plants there but they have merged into one) all i do is feed them the miracle grow. i dont cut back or prune and they look like this now. last year they were half this size. if i could id have them all over my backyard.
