Im a little embrassed. I was offered some cuttings from someone here. I dont know how to grow from a cutting. Every cutting Ive ever gotten has died. Embarassed Embarassed

Can someone share a easy way to grow a cutting? Ive even experimented on my roses. Nothing. Embarassed Embarassed

I would really love to learn! There are some beautiful shrubs and trees out there that can be had from a cutting!!!

I'm new to this too, but so far so good. I took the information from this site to build a bed, you could easily go straight to a pot I'd think:
http://www.mrsboyd.com/coldframes.htm

I'm using this for the rose cuttings:
http://btgrowersupply.stores.yahoo.net/hormodin3.html

And I'm using the regular/weaker/cheaper rooting hormone you find at the home improvement centers for the softwood/perennial cuttings.

After the roses root in the bed (hopefully), I plan to transplant to a pot and not plant them in the ground until next year. I'll have to protect them over the winter or they'll die.

Here's a useful site for propagating clematis:

http://gardenaction.co.uk/plantfinder/clematis_22.asp

I've got a clematis that has grown all the way back down to the ground, so I'm trying to root it by layering. It should work.
