Hello fellow gardeners, I am new to gardening forums but not to gardening. I have been a gardener for years but have really become an avid gardener in the last five years after moving to our current home. The acre of land contained a house in the middle and not a thing planted on it - a blank canvas to do whatever I could imagine. There have been many challenges and failures but for the most part success. I have always had sun gardens but this year am trying a shade garden in the back yard under a weeping willow tree - so far so good. Any suggestions on good shade plants for Michigan would be appreciated. Some of my favorite perennials are Lady's mantle, Queen of the Prairie and Hostas. Happy gardening to all. Polly

Hi Polly! Welcome from Ohio! Have been to Michigan's Thumb! Have been all over Michigan in fact! Used to go to the Alpena area as a kid for fishing with my Dad. Went back there 2 years ago and drove right to the Lake like I had just been there the year before. But it had actually been 44 years! Some great fishing up there! You will like it here, not all of us are crazy!
