|
Last year we had a fungus attack our fruit trees so they didn`t produce much !! This year I have never seen so much fruit on our trees and they are only three years old !! My nectarine tree is so loaded that I have picked fruit for days so the branches don`t get too heavy !! Peach trees are doing the same !! I am waiting to see what the apples and pears do !! Is anyone elses trees producing like this ????? Or is this just a good year ?????

I'll let you know in autumn when our fruit's ready, mart. We haven't got nectarines, peaches or pears, but plums and apples.
Your enthusiasm makes me smile.

Well I am hoping for a freezer full this year !!! Nectarines will probably just be eaten in hand !!! But this winter those peach cobblers will sure be good !! And then there is apple jelly and pie and of course apple butter !!!! Pear preserves,,,, red plum jelly,,,, I can think of many ways to take care of all they produce !!!

our fruit trees are loaded with itsy bitsy buds right now. they know that there's a cold snap coming tonight and haven't blossomed yet...but soon!
our apple and pear trees are over 60 years old and they seem to produce hugely every other year. not sure why...

I am so jealous you have crabapples !! Are yours the larger variety ( golfball size) or the wild ones !!

the crabapple is a cultivated dwarf i think we got from Raintree. it's going on three years old. the first winter it's main stem broke in two. i taped it together with masking tape and propped it up with some small baamboo sticks and it produced five very small fruits last year. it has lots of buds on it this year, so we'll see how big they get soon.
