My friend called me last night and told me a baby bird fell out its nest. Her husband tried to put it back but it wouldn't stay. Since they have 3 cats he was worried it would get eaten. They had no idea what to do with it, so I inherited the little creature. My hubby thinks it's a starling chick. He wanted to do away with it, but I just couldn't do that so it looks like I will be raising the little fellow.

I have rescued wild baby birds before so I know a little of what to do. It really isn't difficult, just time consuming. I keep things around my house such as syringes and baby bird hand rearing formula. I also catch crickets and worms to feed with tweezers. It is really pretty fun to do.

I am sure you can do it KKluv. Once we rescued a bird chick and used a shoe box for it to grow. Once it can run around it was free to roam all over the house and when it was able to fly, it flew away but return every evening to sleep. Every morning after breakfast it will fly off.  Then one day it stopped coming back in the evening for quite a long while. One morning there was four of the same birds just outside the kitchen window and one of them flew up to the kitchen window sill, yes the prodigal bird had return. They came almost every morning and we gave them bread and biscut crumps until one day none of them turn up any more. They were mynahs.
