I'm almost done making a baby blanket for my newest great-niece. Whew! Does anyone else crochet?
I've recently discovered the joy of beading. So far, I've made several necklaces and a couple of bracelets and hope to join our farmer's market and sell my work.

Hi Lily:
Yes I crochet. I also am working on a baby afghan for a gal I work with. She is in "the process" of becoming pregnant, and I wanted to get a head start.
This one is a lovely pattern, "Baby Tier Drop". I have also used the same patttern for big afghans.

I do crochet but not for a few years now. Last thing I made was a baby afghan for my grandson who is going to be 8 in August. Too many other things in my life. Dooley

Snookie:
Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm new here, too, but everyone's been very friendly. I hope you like it here. That "Baby Tier Drop" patterns sounds interesting. Is there anywhere I can view it?
Dooley:
I know what you mean. I haven't had much time for crocheting lately but my niece will be visiting soon so I need to get that blanket finished!

I have to admit that I have tried to crochet but when I attempted to make a simple square it ended up looking like a babies bonnet instead. I actually made quite a few of those to be honest!!! I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off sticking to embroidery, tapestry and needle point.

Lily:
I found this on the web, I'm not fond of the colors in the picture, it doesn't do it justice. But this is the pattern. I use the baby, blue, yellow, pink, green & white. My pattern calls it "tier drop" but this one if called "teardrop".
Anyway....this is the idea.

I forgot. For awhile when we lived in Black Canyon City, "down the hill", I was doing these little bitty bonnets for premies. A friend took them to Children's Hospital in Phoenix. Premie's lose a lot of heat through their head so the put these little bonnets on them. Dooley

Shanna, do you have any other hobbies?
Thanks, Snookie, for the url. It looks like a nice pattern.
Eileen, my goodness. I wish my eyes would focus enough to do embroidery, tapesty and needlepoint! I'd love to see a sample of your work.
Dooley, great idea! This winter I'm going to make those preemie caps and some afghans for the hospitals here. It's a great cause and a good way to use up excess yarn.

I also crochet. I have several projects going at the moment - I work on them during my lunch break. I have made a couple of purses, am finishing a little girls poncho and have started making kids stocking caps - I like to put the hats in the Toys for Tot collection boxes at Christmas time. I have started many afghans over the years - I have started more of them than I have finished. Polly

I'll try to remember to take a piccie of the one and only tapestry I kept for our bedroom. I'm afraid all the rest have been given away as gifts. I may still have some needlepoint and embroidery lying around somewhere though so I'll have a look for it when I get the chance.
