I was out watering the garden this morning and this tiny bunny came hopping out, I went and got the camera and he was still there eating grass.

For those of you who remember this children's poem...
I don't think he will be taking on any field mice. They are bigger than him.

Glad you all enjoyed my baby bunny, he hops out whenever I water, waits until I am done and then hops back. I haven't seen Mom or siblings. I am sorry about the name Foo Foo but that's what popped into my brain when I saw him and I have been humming the tune ever since.

It's all good, Gail, the song will remind me of your happy garden. I'll imagine you watering and singing the song and it will give me a smile! Baby Foo Foo is an adventurer.

Great pictures....but I have 3 of those once little beauties and a Mom and they are destroying my gardens. I am trying all I can to get rid of them...they are literally chewing my lilys down and then chewing all the leaves off. This is war here..

Sherry...I understand your frustration. I have had problems with rabbits in the past. As cute as he is, I am not encouraging him to stick around. I hope he finds another garden to live in. I did not see him today.

Since i started gardening I have had tons and tons of rabbits in my neighborhood. They eat all of my plants and have destroyed my garden on numerous occasions. I have tried to repel them with liquid fence, dryer sheets, sticking sharp sheets of hardware cloth in the soil around my plants. I even bought a have-a-heart trap (trap and release method). I planted basil hoping the odor would repel them. I built a fence around my vegetable garden. They still get in. It is a real issue in my neighborhood if you are trying to grow from seed.
The key is to not let them get comfortable in your yard. They will nest and breed in your yard and you will never be able to get rid of them. That was my mistake. The onces in my yard were living under my deck. I could not get them out of my garden. they would eat anything and everything that i put out. i got so angry that i was losing precious time, effort, and money. Finally i took the matter into my own hands out of pure frustration and bought a BB gun and got rid of all of the rabbits. I've already killed eleven in just this summer. I am not joking about letting them stick around. Now when I see a rabbit I shoot at it and I never see them again. They are the worst garden pest i've ever experienced.

If you lived in Texas you would not have let the rabbits go after the first
garden was ruined we would have had rabbit stew ,fried rabbit ,a freezer full of rabbits by now.Rabbits in the store freezers cost over $8.00 a rabbit.Very good eating. We couldn't afford to let rabbits ruin our gardens.
