We have a lot of native Texas plants in our flower beds, and being native, they spread. I offered starts to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, and they want them!
This Friday we will be taking tubs of flame acanthus, Chihuahuan love grass, West Texas mallow, and Peruvian rock rose to the zoo to be planted on their grounds.
The zoo is also a Botanical garden, so we are so proud that they accepted our donation. Maybe they'll let me pet the lion . . . .

WOW, what an honor to be trusted to provide plants for them. They will be getting better than if their landscaper went to the local big box store garden center that's for sure.

Now, as for petting the lion. Uh, don't but say you did, we won't know the difference and you will get to keep both your hands Wink

That's fantastic! I'm not too sure I'd want to pet the Lion though.

That's very happy news Marlin. I've never met a plant lover who didn't want to share their plants with others. When you visit the zoo in a few months time, you will feel proud.

Congratulations! I'm very proud on your behalf and hope I'm allowed to. I'd love to pet a lion, at least a lion cub. Laughing I'm such a chicken.

That's so nice! You should be very proud to share your plants!
If I did that, I would be going to the zoo to tend my flowers! Laughing

Thank you all, I was so happy I just had to brag!
Droopy, we were at a local fair where there was a wild animal rescue organization with tigers and lions. They offered to let people pet the lion cubs, and while one family was trying to get their child to leave the enclosure, the lion cub walked out. My husband scooped the cub up, put it over his shoulder like you would to burp a baby, and carried it back into the enclosure. The cub was purring!
