Hi Everyone! My friend has a couple of elephant ears , But she said every time a big new leaf comes on one of the other leaves gets yellow and falls off, do you all know what the problem might be? She says it happens every time. She said it should be big by know but with the leaves falling off it not doing to good, The leaves on it are in good shape but then one falls of and she is back to where she started.

Any Ideas Would Be Appreciated.
Margie

margie,
i could be completely wrong. these plants are really exotics here in romania, and thus only potted and maybe not behaving exactly as they would in their natural habitat.
but even here, people have been saying that these plants have just around 3-5 leaves (or so) at a time...and that is why the older ones die.
anyone ever heard of this? maybe it's just a myth over here, to make up for poor caring of these plants ???
i am really wondering.
mom also had 2-3 of these and they never had a lot of leaves. always around 3-4 leaves.

you did say "any idea would be appreciated"
Smile
