we just bought a 1ft angel trumpet plant. when we planted it, we added manure soil around the roots like we were told to do. we also watered it a lot like were told to do. it has only been in the ground for 4 days and the leaves are yellowing and falling off. is this normal or is there something we can do before it's too late? thanks!

First of all, a big welcome to the GardenStew forums danandsarah, glad to have you here! Why don't you tell us a bit more about yourselves here

Now onto the problem at hand,I know that too much phosphorous causes the Angel trumpet's leaves to yellow (the manure maybe?). Also they require a lot of water.

What exactly did the directions tell you danandsarah? The extra info may help to track down the culprit.

thanks for getting back. we bought the plant from a little old chinese lady at a farmer's market. she had a picture of her ginormous bush/tree trumpet plant. she told us to plant it in a low spot in the yard, with some manure around the roots and to water it a lot. so that's what we've done so far. any more input would help greatly cause her flowers look awesome.
