Our dainty, little Princess Gabriella of Egemosen, Denmark does not like to have a bath, even though she's quite particular in general. What to do when the mane needs washing then? I think I found the solution:

At least the mane's whitish now, and not greyishyellow. Laughing

Hey, is that Axl Rose?

Also, your view is amazing. Making a lot jealous here.

Great idea Droopy. Wish I'd thought of doing that years ago as it would have stopped a lot of 'horsey moaning.' Laughing Laughing
Did she go roll in the mud as soon as she was all sparkly clean? The horses I groomed often did. Rolling Eyes

I was thinking more along the lines of Capt Jack Sparrow Wink Gabriella is just as cute, how did she do in competitions this last season?

I don't think there is anywhere in Norway one can look and not see beautiful scenery and yep I am jealous.

What a beautiful mare! She obviously is extremely well-cared for.
Clairol makes a shampoo specifically for white hair (don't ask how I know) that might spiff up her mane more than ordinary soap. I don't think it would harm a horse's sensitive skin, but you could ask a vet.

She's looking good! That mane is good and clean isn't it. Too bad she doesn't like a bath-- now you have to streach and carry on to get her clean. You look like you are already on your tip-toes.
Isn't that a nice and feminine headband she has on today....Tennis anyone?...she seems to be asking. Nay, I guess not then. Wink

She's a teenager. Laughing 13 this year, and she's behaving like one too. Our very own primadonna.

Which reminds me, I've got some photos for you I might get round to sharing later. Wink

Haha, eileen, she didn't get the chance since this was early evening and she went straight inside to enjoy her early evening snack. But if I had let her back outside she would have. Rolling Eyes

Thanks, toni. Very Happy We haven't competed at all this season due to cancelled events and a very long summer holiday. But next year's just around the corner.

Thanks for the tip. How do you know about the white hair shampoo? (Sorry, got curious here. Laughing ) If she's very dirty, that is green and brown, I clean her with regular horse shampoo first, and then I have a second go with blue dog shampoo. It works a treat. Very Happy I don't wash her often, usually only twice to three times per year, bar the tail. It usually gets a rinse once per month, or it would be brownish yellow.

Thanks Sjoerd. Very Happy She's a little beauty, and will look better still when the grass womb is reduced during winter. We're talking about showing her in spring to see how she does in comparison to other Welsh Mountain mares. I don't think she likes tennis at all actually. Laughing
