These came up late and I don't know if they are safe for zone seven. I took them up and brought them inside because they did not bloom or anything. Please identify them for me.
    Thank you,

Looks a lot like the large dandelions we have here. Grows straight up from the center. Can get 4 ft. tall.

Can't tell from the photo but is the rosette of leaves on the end of a long stem or does it lay on the soil with the stem coming up from it?

Does it grow similar to an airplane plant ? Kind of looks like it might. That is, one main plant and new plants at the end of a runner ? Is it something you found in the wild or is it a cultivated plant ?

No, it doesn't grow like the airplane plant. I planted seed that were given to me and I think this is some of them that came up A couple more pictures, the plants look bad because I didn't know I needed to bring them in for the winter and they were almost dead when I brought them in. The frost may have just killed the tops and the plant may have lived but I didn't know.

Much better pic for ID. Looks like a type of Dracaena possibly. However I am not too much on houseplants. If it is, they are not grown from seed but are propagated from cuttings or layering as well as root divisions. Are you sure that the plant was not already there when you planted seed ? Perhaps just had not come up yet ?

Yes, I am sure that the plants came from seed. I saw on the internet how to make mini propagating systems from plastic containers. I used milk jugs and planted a lot of different kinds of seeds. A lot of them came up and I had an abundance of plants. A friend gave me a kit that was called a bibical garden. It had seeds for plants mentioned in the bible. One was Joseph's coat and I thought that might be the one this was, none of the ones I found on the internet had leaves like these do. Could be that the plants are older on the internet and these may be different after they get two or three years old.
    Thanks for your help.

Do you know the names of the other biblical plants you had seeds for? Even the common name could help find the botanical name to ID it.

There are at least two different plants with the common name of Joseph's Coat, Alternanthera ficoidea and Amaranthus Tricolor, but like you said they don't match what you have growing. Not likely that yours will change to look like either of those, since the leaves are different.

I googled "biblical garden plants" and only thing I found that looked even close to yours was as I said before, dandelion or some type of thistle both of which are mentioned in the bible. Nothing else even looked close but pics were not the best on the one listing I looked at.

Toni, some of the other plants were; palm, mustard seed, aloe, and I think the other one was hyssop. I would think the Amaranthus Tricolor would be more likely than the others you mentioned since Joseph's coat was a coat of many colors the bible says. I will try to keep them alive until Spring and replant them and see what happens. Thank you,
