The weather has been colder this winter than some winters, so the flowers have been slower coming out. Although I have the pink, white and a pale pink the sunlight today was not kind to photographs. The shadows are still long, but the days are quickly lengthing. We had a rare sunny day with freezing temperatures. Here is what is blooming in our maritime climate today. Heathers as such hardy plants and seem to be able to survive the worst weather conditions. You have a great selection - I think my favourites are the pink and purple as they add a lovely splash of colour to a garden during winter.
With the variety of climates across the country those of us still snowbound and many weeks away from seeing a flower can benefit from that diversity. The heather pictures are an excellent respite from the angry winter winds now whipping through the New England countryside. Thank you Jewell, Jerry
I just realized that what you call winter heather's the same thing we call spring heather. Yours are lovely.
