I'm still digging around the 'Stew, trying to explore it all. I thought I'd introduce myself right away.
I've been gardening for about 30 years, so I consider myself a beginner. -- still have a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to sharing...and learning from all the kind folks here.

Welcome to the Stew! You will find lots of friendly folks here to discuss gardening with. After 30 years, you probably are just about getting the hang of growing plants. Do you vegetable or flower garden? Let us know more about you, and we'll tell you more than you want about ourselves!

Hi marlingardener! I'm Christine. I have a small yard in suburban Chicago, where I grow as many flowers as I can squeeze in. Plus tomatoes, peppers, a variety of herbs. I also have quite a few houseplants.
It's still awfully cold here...I can't wait to get out and dig in the dirt. I think I'll be doting on my houseplants too much until the weather warms up.

Hi Christine and a warm welcome to our forums from West Lothian in Scotland.
Our temperatures are keeping me out of the garden at the moment too so I'm hoping spring will be along soon. I grow fruit, herbs and flowers in my 1/3rd of acre of ground and will soon be sowing salad and veggie seeds.

Hi Christine, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Winter has pretty much left our part of the U.S. and from the feel of things summer isn't going to give spring much of an opening to make an appearance.
We would love to see any photos of your garden that you would like to share.

Welcome to GardenStew. I live in Texas now and have started planting things. I once lived for a long while in Wisconsin, right across the border from Illinois. I know how long it takes spring to arrive in that part of the country. Come here often, we help everyone relieve their boredom. With 30 years of gardening I'm sure you can be a help to all of us here. dooley

Wow. Hi everyone! I just logged back in this morning and was overwhelmed -- and delighted -- at the friendly responses here.
Jewell, thanks for the kind comment about my avatar. I didn't take the photo. I'm not much of a photographer, but I'll try to take some snapshots this summer and share them.
Dooley, I lived in Wisconsin, too, for about 3 years. Midwest winters can be brutal but the summers are beautiful. Maybe I can do some virtual gardening here until spring arrives. Or, at least get inspired.
Thank you ALL for the warm welcome! I'll see you around!
