If there's anything you all have learned about me over the last couple of years... is that I'm not very patient!
So... instead of prepping and painting either clay/terra cotta pots... or even plastic ones, I decided to cheat.
Went to the dollar store... and now this is what's sitting on the bench now.

The colorful ones are "picnic bowls". Had Hubby drills some holes. Put in some Kalanchoe and some of Hairy Wandering Jew. The big green "tote" one also needed holes drilled and put the Sweet William in it.
The other day, Hubby brought home this watering can that he picked up off the side of the road. Come to find out it had a hole in the bottom... so I just made more and turned it into a planter. I stuck one of the zillion Coreopsis in there just for the photo.
Oh yeah... and that's a Sassafras tree it's next to, surrounded by some orange Daylilies.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. When I first saw it.. "bright colors" came to mind. I REALLY like everyone's suggestions about the pots being colorful and NOT the bench. And now, the next vision is some cute little "sitting" fairies or critters.

Looks great Cheryl, the bench makes a nice backdrop for the colorful planters. The bench is so versatile you should be able to do many things with it.

That bench really shows off those plants with the bright containers! Wow, what a treasure.

Gosh that was quick Cheryl!! I think the bench is looking great with your colourful pots on it. Now all we have to do is wait for those plants to flower for you. The orange daylilies will be a lovely backdrop for the bench too.

Thanks everyone. It sure brightens up that tree area. Can't wait for the Daylilies to bloom.
