Can someone tell me the name of this flower. (Nick name for now is Tall one)

Hubbys shadow lol.

Free plants were given to me at a garage sale 2 weeks ago. I was admiring the garden talking about Gardenstew.. So this lady gave me several plants. I have no idea what all she gave me Coffee plant, banana (different from what I have), 4 oclocks, aloe and some bulbs that just have the leaves. There is more just waiting for them to perk up and bloom.

The orange canna I have, the stem looks like that if you push the leaves away. It could be that the stem just out grow the leaves as a fluke.

Gosh, it sure looks like a canna, what about the leaves, can you get a close up of them. Unless it is something I have never came across, I would say it is some form of canna. It may look more normal next blooming season.

Definitely looks like a Canna to me. I had some Cannas that grew like this when I planted them with some tall Dahlias. They grew very narrow and about 7 feet tall. I would cut it off at the base and let it flush out with new growth. I like growing them for the foliage and the flowers are just a nice extra to me.
