OMG Philip when I read the start of your post I thought you'd gone ahead and painted the new planter green!! I really should have read the whole post before jumping to conclusions shouldn't I?
Anyway, that aside, well done with the hydrangeas and roses. They're all looking great which is down to your TLC. Do keep us updated on how they do won't you?

Hi Eileen,
i forgot that mentioning green paint and flower pots that it might give the immediate impression i had changed my mind over the colour of my new tall flower pot, ,..i have become to enjoy that colour,..so its going to remain as is,..where i can see it from my front room.
( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )
The other two roses grown from seed are thriving as well,..though not growing as fast as the one in the flower pot,..the interesting thing about these three roses from seeds is they wont flower anything like the parent rose,..well that's the usual,..i might have three new roses.

After the kittens thrashed my "Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens',..by using it as a bed,..i managed to rescue a few pieces and they are coming along.

I had hoped to purchase Aluminium Powder to change the colour of the two new Hydrangea but so far i checked two garden centers and no luck.

Philip, Your hydrangea looks great and so do your roses. You have done a great job on them.
Eileen, I had to laugh, I just knew there was no way Philip would disappoint us by defacing his new and bargain priced vase.

Philip, yours is one of the most beautiful and varied gardens I've ever seen, and I've seen a whole lot of gardens!

You certainly have a golden touch with the plants!
Your baby roses from seed are doing marvelous. Wish I could send you mine so you can make grow up big and strong like yours!

Hi Carolyn,
your right,..i made up my mind,..told everyone i would stick with the colour,..i did the same with smoking,..told everyone i was going to quit,..two days later i did and have not smoked in two years,..but i still miss them.
-----------------------------------------------------
Hi Jane,
thank you for the compliment,..i tend to be a bit of a Magpie where plants are concerned,..if i see a plant someplace i ask for a cutting,..though i admit to obtaining cuttings now and then by strange means, .
-----------------------------------------------------
Hi Cheryl,
my Dad and his gardener friends used always say i had green fingers,..i think its a lot of good sense with plants and a fair amount of luck and observation, ,..oh i look at my roses from seeds and always think of yours and wonder how its doing,..fingers crossed,..i have several starting from cuttings this year,..i keep the odd one but mostly give them to friends.
Here are three,..there are about six in all. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )

My baby rose is doing okay. Nothing really new happening with it. Just gave it a drink of miracle grow the other day.
So... with me and roses... no news is good news!

Always a pleasure to walk thru your garden Philip to see what is new, learn a tip or see the progress of flowers. I must admit I envy your green thumb. I even have a can of green paint.
