My raspberries are hard and bitter, any ideas why?

    hey everyone. i've been growing raspberries in my garden for years. this year however they are hard as a rock,red but extremely hard and bitter unedible. any clues?

    I'm wondering where you live, but do you have blackberries or raspberries. Right now blackberries are red and hard in our area....not even close to ripe. very sour to me anytime, but right now inedible. maybe you could post us a picture for us.

    i live in windsor canada near detroit. they are definitely raspberries.

    My blackberries were the same way. Great last year but hard as a rock and terrible eating this year. Our reason was drought. How has your weather been? The reason for that is usually weather related. Late spring and abnormally short growing season is a possibility too.

    Hi andy - from your neighbor to the north!
    I think it is due to the heat and drought we have been having. I have some in the same condition.
