Please help me anyone! I am very new at this. I got a basil plant spring. I put it in a very well lit area of our home. It is the kind that grows very tall. I notices a few weeks ago that there are little white bugs that go on it. And the leaves are sticky with some substance. Is it worth keeping. Is there anything I can do to help my plant and are the leaves still eatable.

Thank you in advance for your help

Hi there Garneau.
It sounds as though you have an infestation of white fly. Dilute some washing up liquid in water and spray it all over your basil. It won't hurt the plant but should get rid of the white fly. You may have to repeat the spraying every few days for a while but it's well worth the effort. Let me know how you get on won't you?

Welcome. You've got Aphids. Do what Eileen said or spray with Sevin.
