i would appreciate if someone could help me. i am having a problem with hot oil damage to some of my bushes and portions of my lawn. before you think this is weird let me explain. i take care of an apartment complex and someone is apparently throwing hot oil out of their window and damaging the bushes and portions of the lawn. we have tried reseeding the lawn and getting most of the damage out but this idiot is still throwing hot oil out the window. the bushes look to be damaged beyond repair but the lawn may be salvaged. help anyone?

As long as they keep throwing the oil out you will be replacing the damaged plants and grass continuously.

Sounds like you either need to contact the idiot and raise their rent to cover the cost of continued repairs or nail their windows shut.
As long as their actions are causing them no inconvenience they will continue to act irresponsibly.

Sounds dangerous to me, I hope no one is ever standing under the window when they do this. I agree with Toni, as long as these people are not made to face up to their actions they will continue doing this.

I agree with what Toni and Sharon have to say. There is no gardening preventative measure you can take and of course you shouldn't have to. This is damage to property and will be governed by the appropriate laws. Find out who is doing this first and then take the appropriate legal action whatever that may be.

Negative points aside and BIG welcome to the Stew Gloria. Maybe you can tell us a bit more about yourself, this is a great place to make new gardening friends Very Happy
