Here it is not even the middle of August yet and the store already have Halloween stuff on display, and one store even has some Christmas stuff out! They haven't even sold all of the back to school stuff yet. In July while we were on vacation, I was looking for a bargain on some new shorts and the sales lady said that they had put all of their summer clothes away and were now selling winter clothes!

Maybe it will race so far ahead of itself that eventually when you are celebrating Xmas 2020 you will really be celebrating Xmas 2021 The world's gone nutty

Now there's a thought - if they keep pushing it further and further out, eventually they'll match back up with the holiday or season they are supposed to be on.
I know what you mean, when my son's sandals broke this past week, I was anxious because I wasn't sure I would be able to find summer sandals in the store at this time of year (summer). Thankfully there were still displays of them, though they were being shoved to the side by school stuff and 'closed out.'
Sheesh!

We were in two stores yesterday that had Christmas stuff on display. When I was a child, the stuff didn't come out until after Thanksgiving. Now, Thanksgiving is almost a forgotten holiday. Dooley

The stores aren't buying large amounts of things anymore so the sale items are few. I try to pick up play clothes in the summer/fall sales to use the next year.I noticed a couple of stores didn't have much. It is hard to find seasonal cards in the store also.

I know what you all mean about this. I must remember that I need new boots this winter. I will probably have to buy them in September. Last year when I needed new ones all that was on the shelves were sandals.

Flowie, are you talking about live Christmas trees that have already been cut? If so, that must be why mine never last through Christmas.
I work at WalMart, no Christmas stuff yet, but I have seen all of the fall cloth flowers are out and some fall crafts. They will probably be getting Christmas stuff in soon.
I went to the garden center a couple of days ago to get some seed starting soil and peat pellets. I also wanted to pick up a couple of packs of seeds, all gone. The manager said it all got sent back to home office the 2nd week of June. Crazy ain't it.

Yep!! Same here!! I wish we could all just slow down and take a deep breath, and not have to be in such a rush!! And the big question is What are we in such a rush for? I don't know about everyone else but I don't particularly want to rush to my death!!!

My son works at Wal Mart and he said his dept has ordered their Xmas stuff, but it hasn't come in yet. He works in electronics so he dosn't have a whole lot of holiday stuff to put up with.

It is just a commercial thing now.Everyone has forgot the meaning.
It isn't much fun anymore.People getting into fights over certain toys .That is truly sad.I wonder what this old world is going to end up like.I'm sure none of us is going to like the answer.

no they are the fake ones..(xmas trees) Thank goodness... the greenhouse gets to be really hot so if they were real they would never survive..
our seeds are on sale right now at 50% off.. and we dont have much left. the price is great especially for people who have small greenhouses and like to grow things all year round.
Christmas isnt the same anymore when you start to see these things in August.. and like someone else said.. "what ever happened to Thanksgiving?" they seem to go from Halloween right to Christmas....
it really makes me sick.. I dont want to be rushed to my death either.

I agree it is sad...
We have a very good book called "Unplug the Christmas Machine" that I highly recommend, if you'd like some ideas on how to reclaim your family Christmas-time.

When my son was young, we really enjoyed Christmas. He would be up at 4 am to see what Santa brought. He still lives here at home at age 35, but it is like he has his own apartment in the basement. He just has to come upstairs for food and bathroom. But at Christmas, we still wait for him to get up, and he has to pass out the gifts before anyone can open them. This little bit of tradition is still carried out. He grumbles about it some what, But I really don't think he would want it any other way!
